ABOUT ME
I teach first-year writing at James Madison University and advise the RhetTech undergraduate journal. In addition, I write non-fiction books for middle school and high school audiences, and literary essays for adults. My favorite professional project was coordinating the publication of the native plant guide, Plant Ridge & Valley Natives: A Gardener's Guide.
I love living in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia near the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. I am grounded by watching the small dramas of frogs, bugs, and birds near our backyard pond.
